From this blog post, I will write about Top 20 most fattening foods. At the same time, I will also describe those foods step by step. First of all, I will start with an explanation about fats, because they are the first reason for fattening. At the same time, fats are also important food sources in our body, and without them, human life wouldn’t be possible.
Top 20 most fattening foods
Fats And Oils
Fats and Oils are chemical compounds with completely saturated hydrocarbon chains of carbon atoms, one of the top 20 most fattening foods. The chemical classification of such combinations is called fats. When we talk about fattening foods, we must also mention another very important factor. Throughout the body, there are special cells that are responsible for controlling fat storage. These cells control how much fats the body stores and how many fats it burns as an energy source. So these cells decide if you are gaining weight or losing weight.
So, I already mentioned that fats are needed for life. And they sure are. Without fats, our cells would not be able to produce some essential substances. Fats dissolve in blood and transport through the bloodstream into body cells, where they are used as energy sources or for producing other very important chemical compounds that our body uses daily (more here: Fat-soluble vitamins ).
But there’s one big problem with fats. If you consume too many fats, your body will store them instead of circulating them for different purposes. When we eat food high in fat, the human digestive system is designed in a way
Ice cream
Ice cream is one of the most popular desserts available worldwide. It’s the main ingredient; milk forms 80% of Ice-cream and 20% are its flavoring agents, including sugar, fruits, whipped cream, etc. Most of the ice creams are made from whole milk, which is a protein source as well as contains fat.
When you eat Ice-cream, your body temperature goes up. This causes the fat molecules to become more mobile, and they start moving around trying to escape from the body through sweat glands, pores, and hair follicles on your skin. When the fat molecules are free-floating in your bloodstream, they stick to the lining of your arteries. This is very dangerous because it will block these arteries over time and cause serious problems like heart attacks or strokes. So be careful.
Sugar-sweetened Coffee
Sugar-sweetened Coffee is a fat food because it has high-fat content. Sugar-sweetened Coffee means that there is sugar added to the Coffee in addition to milk. However, it does not mean that there Coffee in it. Sugar-sweetened Coffee can be any kind of creamy beverage such as cappuccino or latte. The point is only the additional sugar contained in it because Coffee contains no sugar.
The fact that sugar adds calories is common sense. Therefore, those who are concerned about losing weight may try not to drink Coffee at all. The thing is that most people drink Coffee because they enjoy the taste of it. Sugar-sweetened Coffee is not such a big deal for some non-smokers who want to lose weight or are overweight.
However, some people have heart problems, and they should be careful about Caffeine intake. Many health and exercise science authorities say that caffeine is a wonderful drug for fat burning because it helps you feel full for a long time. If you have enough fat to burn, caffeine will help in burning more calories than usual.
Takeaway pizza
Takeaway pizza is fattening because of its calories. The greater the number of calories, the more it weighs in your body. Takeaway pizza has high calories, which will make you obese and gain fat faster than anything else. Takeaway Pizza is fattening because of its ingredients. Takeaways have more oil/grease when compare to traditional home-cooked food. Some extra oil/grease from the food is stored as fat, making you obese and fatter.
Takeaway Pizza is fattening because it is rich in carbohydrates. Takeaway foods are mainly made up of carbohydrates such as cereals, pieces of bread, etc. When we consume these kinds of high-carb food. They will be converted into glucose which is then absorbed into the bloodstream as energy. If your body has excess glucose, it will be converted into fat and stored in your body.
Takeaway Pizza has too much salt & too little water intake while eating pizza. Salt is responsible for pushing fluid out of our bodies when we consume high sodium foods too much. If you don’t take in enough water to replenish the lost fluid, it will make your body dehydrated, leading to rapid weight gain and fat storage.
Fast Food Hamburgers
Fast food hamburgers are one of the most popular foods worldwide. Fast food is not only bad for your health, but it also fattens you up. Fast food burgers are one of the worst foods that you can eat because they contain a lot of calories, fat, and other unhealthy ingredients. Fast food hamburgers are often oversized, and people usually end up eating them with fries or onion rings.
Fast Food Hamburgers are an example of junk food that should be avoided at all costs. Fast food hamburgers are fattening and unhealthy for our body because it is a processed food that contains a high amount of saturated fat. Fast food hamburgers can increase your risk of heart diseases, cancer, diabetes, and obesity. Fast Food Hamburgers have no nutritional value, and they will lead to health problems if you eat them too often, like every day or even once a week.
French fries and potato chips
French fries and potato chips contain too much sugar and trans fat. Too much trans fat is not good for our health. These food contain lots of salt and carbohydrates, which are bad for our body if taken in excess amounts. French fries also have fat content, which is a very unhealthy part of the meal. If you want to take French fries and potato chips occasionally, then it is okay. But if you are taking these foods regularly, it becomes unhealthy food for your body.
On the other hand, I have observed that the big cities people take these foods more than the small town or villages. It is a big problem not just for us but also for our next generations and their health. If we talk about children taking French fries and potato chips in large amounts, it will ruin their digestive system and other aspects of body function. A healthy diet and regular exercise are essential for our health. So take this article as a suggestion and try to avoid these fatty and salty foods.
Cookies and doughnuts
Cookies and doughnuts are fattening food because of the calories, fat and sugar included. I will also explain why these food groups are harmful, how they can be avoided in order to lose weight, and what is a proper diet for everyone who wants to eat less fat and gain more energy. Cookies and doughnuts are not just sweet but fattening foods because they have too much fat and sugar. Also, they are not crunchy food because these foods have too little protein. For example, a cookie contains 2 percent of protein which is less than the sugar and fat.
Doughnuts are also bad because they have too much fat in them and also little sugar. Doughnuts are not sweet as cookies. It can be seen that doughnuts contain more calories than cookies, so it is better to avoid them if you want to lose weight. Many research shows that if we eat a lot of cookies/doughnuts with sugar, the sugar will be transformed into fats and add weight to the body.
Peanut butter
Peanut butter is a fattening food for our body because of its high-fat content. When we eat and ingest Peanut butter into our body, that will be stored as fat. It’s not good food for the human body to consume because we humans instinctively want the highest energy density nutrient for our body. That would be protein; if peanut butter is low in protein, it won’t give us energy. Peanut butter has high protein content, but that is not enough for our body to get the highest energy density nutrient because of the high-fat content and it’s too low in fiber.
Our body wants to save every nutrient for survival because our brains and other organs always use energy. Our body will convert the nutrients from food into fat only if we overeat or consume too many fats. We have to know that there is a difference between good fat and bad fat. Good fats are omega-3/omega-6 unsaturated fats, and bad fats are saturated fat. Saturated fats increase cholesterol in our body to the level that it clogs up our arteries, thus creating a high risk of heart attack, stroke, diabetes, and obesity.
Soda
Soda is fattening because of sugar. The main component of Soda is high fructose corn syrup (HFCS). HFCS has become a common sweetener used in many foods and beverages, including breakfast cereals, baked goods, canned fruits, jams and juices, soft drinks, etc. HFCS makes food taste good, but it’s unhealthy and harmful. It can raise insulin levels by as much as 150 percent, which causes us to gain weight.
Retinal activity is also stimulated by HFCS, which can lead to excess fat storage in your body and contribute to the development of a person who is diabetic or prediabetic. As we all know, Soda contains carbonated water, so drinking too much Soda can cause gas in our stomach that can make us bloated and uncomfortable in our stomach. Soda is fattening for some people because of its caffeine content. Caffeine can speed up your metabolism, so you burn more calories. Drinking too much Soda will make you fattening.
Milk chocolate
Milk chocolate is a fattening food for our body because it has a lot of sugar. This Milk chocolate consists of cocoa, milk solids, and white sugar. These ingredients make our body fat because they are high in calories, and we should eat only a little of them every day. If we overeat these calories, then our body fat will increase. I am against Milk chocolate because it is not very good for our bodies.
One more reason why I’m against Milk chocolate is that this food has a lot of salt in it. Sugar and salt are so high in calories, and we should eat only a tiny amount of them every day to maintain our healthy life. Too much consumption of these food ingredients makes us physically fatter than others.
At last, my opinion of Milk chocolate is that this food is not suitable for our body because its ingredients are very high in calories and we should eat only a little of them every day to maintain our healthy life.
Baked Goods
Baked Goods are fattening because, during the process of baking, there is a bread mixing in the dough. The flour which will be used to bake Bakery Products are already fattening, but when it’s baked, it becomes more fattening since browning occurs during baking and this process naturally brings fats to the surface of the foods especially bakes goods like cookies, crackers, pizza, and bread.
At last, we can say that Bakery and Baked Goods are fattening food. But we can deal with this by eating all the baked goods you want, but stop it when you feel full. This process is called portion control. Though Bakery and Baked Goods are fattening, they can help you lose weight if you know how to eat them right!
Sugary Drinks
Sugary Drinks are fattening because it contains a high level of glucose which makes our body fat. Most Sugary Drinks contains high fructose corn syrup as the primary source of sugars. High fructose corn syrup has 100% of its sugar content from fructose, and only 40% of its sugar content is from glucose.
This is why Sugary Drinks are fattening food. We should not have too much Sugary Drinks because it will increase our body fat.
Sweets
Sweets are fattening because it is high in sugar and all of that sugar is converted to fat. When we are eating sweets, the blood glucose level rises quickly, so the pancreas secretes insulin. Insulin then allows our body to take up glucose from the bloodstream and store it for future use as glycogen or another energy source. One gram of sugar contains four calories, and because sweets are high in sugar, which is converted to fat.
From the above discussion, we can say that sweets are fattening and should be kept minimum when you are trying to lose weight.
Alcohol
New Study about Alcohol, we found that Alcohol makes us fatter. Drinking Alcohol makes us fatter than we think, according to a new study from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas. This is because Alcohol contains seven calories per gram that are not accounted for on food nutrition labels. It is well known that Alcohol contributes to calories. However, the US Food and Drug Administration has considered Alcohol to be exempt from mandatory reporting of calories.
You might think that drinking Alcohol doesn’t add many calories to your daily diet, but you should be aware of the seven calories per gram provided by Alcohol. While this is roughly the same as carbohydrates and protein (4 calories per gram each), it is higher than fats, which provide just four calories per gram.
Dried Fruits
Dried Fruits have very high-calorie content. Dried fruits have very little fiber and carbohydrate content as compare to fresh fruits. So, Dried Fruits are fattening for our body and also will cause weight gain.
If we want to eat dried fruits, choose the type of dried fruits with the least amount of calories. Dried Fruits are fattening for our body, so we should always take Dried Fruits in moderation.
Starchy Foods
Starchy foods are composed of stored carbohydrates. And from these stored carbohydrates, the body cannot break down the starches and causes digestive problems, which will make us gain weight as a result. Common Starchy Foods include pasta, bread, potatoes, etc. The body cannot burn Starchy Foods which will cause an increase in blood sugar levels and will make you gain weight. The body also stores the excess starches that are not used by the body, which causes us to become fatter.
Other than this, starch foods will not produce any significant energy for our body as it does not burn nor breakdown. It is recommended that you have only very little to no starchy food in your diet.
Red Meat
Red Meat contains a lot of fat, cholesterol. It fills our stomachs faster than other proteins and at the same time gives us more calories than any other foodstuff, which makes it one of three things that make humans fatter. Red Meat is also very acidic, and it is difficult for the body to digest. For these reasons, you should eat Meat sparingly. Some scientists believe that eating Red Meat in the evening can lead to weight gain and fat around your waist. The Glycine found in Red Meats helps our bodies produce more Growth Hormone (HGH).
Many people do not know that 100 grams of lean Red Meat have about 225 calories and 25 grams of protein. And those numbers go up when you cook it with the skin and fat. So you must take care of what you eat because if you do not want to be fat, you must eliminate all red Meat from your diet.
Whole-Grain Pasta And Bread
Whole-Grain Pasta And Bread has a high glycemic index or high GI food, which may cause weight gain. These are processed food with a lot of additives like sugar or milk powder to increase the taste. Whole-Grain Pasta And Bread are also enriched food. These are not food that can be consumed by people who want to lose weight.
Finally, it can be said that Whole-Grain Pasta And Bread are healthy food because Whole-Grain Pasta And Bread are made from grains, and Whole-Grain Pasta And Bread contain many vitamins and minerals. But truthfully, Whole-Grain Pasta And Bread are not healthy for our bodies.
Cheese
Cheese contains high fat and high cholesterol. It causes heart problems, and some people cannot digest it well because of their body processes. So, it leads to fat in their body. Cheese makes our body fattening because of its high-calorie content. There are two types of Cheese that we can recognize – hard one and soft one. They both contain a lot of fat and cholesterol, so in any way, they should be consumed in limited quantities.
Among other things, this product contains saturated fats. As we know, these have the most significant influence on the level of cholesterol in our blood. And if its level gets too high, then there may be a heart attack or stroke. We can say that they are not very healthy.
Rice
Rice has 98% starch in it, so it should be fattening food for our body. That’s why people who love Rice should take the medication to lower blood sugar levels. But if we eat Brown Rice or Wild Rice, that has only 1% starch in it. So they are not fattening food for our body and also not make us become fat.
But we still need to take the medication to lower blood sugar levels because Brown Rice is high Carbohydrate food. It has fewer calories than Brown Rice, so White Rice is a fattening food for our body. That’s why people who love Rice should take the medication to lower blood sugar levels and exercise to get fit and healthy.
What I’m going to say from this blog post may make some people feel uncomfortable with it because they love Rice too much. But if you are thinking about your health and want to get fit and healthy, you must consider what I’m going to say from this blog post.
In conclusion, I hope you will understand the importance that food has on our bodies. So we must take good care of what we eat, and when we do so, it will be a miracle for our bodies to live longer. I do understand sometimes it is hard to control what you eat, like when you are out with friends or family. But if we try our best and make good choices, we will have a healthier diet overall.
